Last Tuesday, the manager of Los Angeles Dodgers Dave Roberts said Clayton Kershaw is about to be ready to return after his last injury. Roberts said Kershaw will throw a bullpen session in the coming days before deciding the next step oh his recovery. There’s still no official date for his return, despite the fact he has been improving following his Tuesday throwing session. The player is really close, is just a matter of time. The team just don’t want to put the player in any bad situation and the calendar is on their side.
Roberts said the press that the organization is looking for the best for him and the best for everyone. Kershaw hasn’t played in a game since July 23 when he left against the Atlanta Braves after two innings. At the age of 29-year-old, the player has been on the All Star selection and actually, has won three-times the Cy Young Award winner. Before the injury, he posted a 2.04 ERA, and a 0.88 WHIP with 141. inning and 168 strikeouts across 21 starts in 2017.
On Tuesday, the player had an interview with Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times. He said he felt healthy and that he didn’t felt the lost much. Los Angeles can afford to let him take it slow. The team owns a 79-33 record, eight game better than any other team in the league. The Dodgers are also looking to acquire Yu Darvish from the Texas Rangers who will help the team getting fit for the rest of the season. With Kershaw coming back, L.A will be a good favorite in getting to playoffs.
