The Boston Red Sox go on the road to face the Chicago White Sox in Tuesday night action.
The Boston Red Sox have been clicking on all cylinders with the pitching and hitting both contributing to wins in eight of ten which has them atop the AL East. The Red Sox come off of a three game sweep of the Yankees following an 8-7 win on Sunday where the offense saved the day. Boston ace David Price gave up six runs on eight hits over seven frames which was good enough to get the win. The Red Sox amassed 14 hits and walked three times with Travis Shaw and Christian Vasquez slamming two run jacks while Hanley Ramirez drove in two and scored. The Boston Red Sox send Steven Wright to the bump in search of his third straight victory. Wright defeated the Braves 9-4 last time out with two runs plated (one earned) on three hits and three BB in seven frames.
The Chicago White Sox showed some resiliency in Baltimore this past weekend to earn a split of their four game series after dropping the first two. Overall the Pale Hose have won eight of ten after dominating the Orioles 7-1 on Sunday. White Sox starter Chris Sale was stingy as usual with the lone run allowed on five hits and four free passes through 5.1 innings while four relievers held Baltimore scoreless. The CWS attack consisted of 13 hits and six walks with Brett Lawrie going 3-3 with a solo homer while Jerry Sands knocked in two runs as every starter but one scored or drove in runs. Left hander Jose Quintana toes the rubber for the White Sox with his third straight shutout on his mind. Quintana is coming off of a 4-0 win at Toronto with six scoreless innings while striking out ten.
