Louis Dominique allowed all three goals on 28 shots as the Yotes won number four in a row. Justin Schultz, Leon Draisaitl and Benoit Pouliot scored for Edmonton but Anders Nilsson couldn’t make the support hold up despite 27 stops as the slumping Oilers have lost 10-13.

The LA Kings head into the Motor City on Friday looking to stay on top of the Pacific division and as winners of three in a row and seven of their last 10 games overall they are in a nice position to do so here against an average Wings group. The Kings look like a team ready to get back to the playoffs and make a statement once they get there and while they have lost some pieces from their last Cup roster they still have a large portion of that group intact and will be looking for a deep run in the Western Conference playoffs this season. Jonathan Quick gets the call between the pipes here as he will go up against Petr Mrazek who earned a shut out his last time between the pipes.

The Red Wings are in the mix in the Atlantic division but overall they sit with a very average 9-8-2 record and sit 10 points back of the Canadiens for top spot. Detroit is looking for Pavel Dastyuk to get going as he is the team’s offensive catalyst and if they can get some secondary support they could very well extend their ridiculous playoff streak and pull off a few upsets along the way. With Mrzaek in goal I like the Wings a bit better than I would with Howard but I really like the total as both goalies should be on their game and this one will come down to the wire.

Washington Capitals vs Detroit Red Wings

Washington Capitals vs Detroit Red WingsCheck WagerWeb and find the best betting site!!!!

Two days after losing to the best team in the Western Conference, 4-1 to the Stars at home, the Wings host one of the better squads in the East. The Capitals have allowed the fewest goals in the NHL at just 25. It will be the first time Mike Green will face D.C., where he spent the first 10 seasons of his career. As for the Wings in goal, Petr Mrazek will get the starting nod.

Green notched his 250th career assist in a 4-1 loss to Dallas on Sunday as the Red Wings saw their three-game winning streak come to an end. Detroit must find its best form against Washington, which has won four of its last five games and is one of only five teams in the league with double-digit victories. Captain Alex Ovechkin leads the Capitals with eight goals – one in each of the last three games – and has 483 in his career, needing one to pass newly inducted Hall-of-Famer Sergei Fedorov for the most by a Russian-born player in NHL history. Five players have recorded at least 11 points for Washington, which is 4-1-0 on the road.

Nickolas Backstrom scored with less then a second left in regulation to send the game to overtime while Alex Ovechkin tallied in the second period and in the 4th round of the shootout to make a winner of Braden Holtby who allowed both goals on 25 shots. The Maple Leafs saw Daniel Winnik and James van Riemsdyk light the lamp but let one get away with James Reimer giving up two goals on 29 shots including the heartbreaker in the last second of regulation.

The Dallas Stars great start to the season continued in a 4-1 victory at Joe Louis Arena on Sunday that upped their record to 12-3-0. A balanced Stars attack saw Valeri Nichushkin and Cody Eakin while Tyler Seguin and Patrick Sharp scored and added assists. The offensive burst made life between the pipes for Kari Lehtonen good as he recorded 21 stops in picking up the win. The Red Wings never got their offense going with Gustav Nyquist scoring their only goal while Jimmy Howard recorded 20 stops before getting hurt in the third. The Red Wings have dropped have dropped to 7-6-1 with loss number three in a row.
